Growing number of landlords say they will sell some or all properties
Landlords selling properties: 35% of landlords surveyed by Landbay intend to sell some of their properties, up from 29% in the previous survey.
Reasons for selling: The top reason is landlord taxation, cited by over half of those planning to sell—an increase from just over a third previously. Concerns about evicting difficult tenants were mentioned by 46%, while 39% cited fluctuations in mortgage rates (down from 48%).
Retention: 47% of landlords have no plans to sell, with 75% of these owning properties through a limited company.
Undecided landlords: Fewer than 20% remain uncertain about their future plans.
Support for landlords: Landbay has introduced a product transfer offering to assist landlords with refinancing, aiming to boost confidence in the market.
