Agent and landlord fined over unlicensed HMOs
A managing agent has been fined in a clampdown on unlicensed HMOs in Gravesend.
As a result of the local council’s enforcement action, the landlord of an unlicensed HMO in Gravesend was fined £10,000, while the managing agent of a nearby property was fined £17,500.
A council spokesperson says the two cases serve as a warning to others to get their houses in order.
“We have a good relationship with the majority of private landlords in Gravesend who work hard to ensure their tenants live in safe, suitable accommodation.
