Councils launch private lettings scheme

East Suffolk and West Suffolk councils have launched the “Safe Suffolk Renters” campaign to support landlords and tenants ahead of the Renters Rights Bill. This landlord liaison service offers:

• No-fee lettings service and guaranteed rent.
• A deposit bond covering up to six weeks’ rent.
• Free property inspections for reassurance.

The initiative aims to foster successful tenancies and reduce homelessness. The councils encourage landlords to collaborate with them, emphasizing the benefits of their services, such as managing properties at no cost and providing guidance on legislative changes. They aim to ease landlords’ concerns and promote responsible private letting as an integral part of the housing market.
